I love Golden China. The food very very tasty.

The food is very delicious and good. Love going there for lunch specials and dinner. The food is HALAL asked for their receipts they showed it and they have a certificate too. I am very satisfied. Always go there with my family and friends.

I don't think the food is halal there . Whenever I ask the owner says different name .if she is bringing from maple lodge then it's not halal.check with her before u all muslim go and eat there .the chicken has to be from Zabiha or any halal store. Let her know she has to put her halal certificate on her counter so that all Muslim can see .thanxs

GOLDEN CHINA HAKKA RESTAURANT IS THE BEST IN MARKHAM. LAST NITE, NEW YEAR'S EVE WENT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS EVERYTHING FRESH AND THE FOOD IS HALAL. THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT. I LOVE GOING THERE OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Golden China always copied from TANGARINE ASIAN CUISINE as well as FREDERICK'S RESTAURANT. Whenever Tangarine have something special like a Lunch Special or any other selections, there are the one follow suits. Golden China's food is medicore, no wonder that people are having an upset stomach and lots of MSG in their food. I hope that the customers tell the Management about it otherwise they won't do ANYTHING just writing it on the Facebook, Twitter or Food Pages website.

I'm a vegetarian. the vegetarian menu is very good i like the veggie dishes especially the manchurian veg pakoras and the paneer dishes, it very tasty.

Golden China is copying what TANGERINE ASIAN CUISINE are doing. They're copycats out there. I don't think that the food are medicore co'z they've more MSG as I have to drink lots of water to quench the thrist and makes me go to washroom so many times.

DON'T RECOMMEND CUSTOMERS TO GO BACK AGAIN --- NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN..... BUYER'S BEWARE OF WHAT YOU'RE BUYING???

Food was okay compared to other restuarants. The female owner is horribly rude and lacks customer service skills. She'll rush you through your meal and insist to pack your food so that she can seat others. Due to the HORRIBLE service and mediocre food, I will not go again.

The food is okay - fabulous if you like MSG and running to the bathroom. The lady who works there (owner?) is very rude. While a group of us were eating, she insisted that she pack everything up for since it was getting busy. She did this 3 times. Will never eat there again.

The fried chicken was still frozen inside. The chow mein looked as though it contained plate scrapings from someone else's finished plate. Chicken balls were mediochre at best. Will never eat from here again.

Went to Golden China, Markham and asked for Halal receipt they instantly produced the receipt. Excellent food and the price were nominal too. Compare the food with Tangerine or for that matter Hakka Garden Chinese, Overlea Blvd. - their price is more than Golden China and the quality of the food also sucks.

Had a party to celebrate my brother's b/day. The food is very good, fresh, so is the quality and quantity. Very Good value for your money! Definitely will recommend my friends.... Good Job Golden China!.. Keep up the good food.

Ask about Halal certificate they don't have it! Now ask about the receipt from halal shop, they just produce receipt from other places and when you inquire further, they get too rude. Not Halal at all.

They are open 7 days!... just love their food... the quality and quantity of their food is just fabulous and so is the price...'The Price is Right.
The decor is simple and the place is very clean!... now I can enjoy my lunch/Dinner on Tuesdays too. Dined there with family on Eid and yes, The meat is HALAL!..

They are open all 7 days a week!... I'm so glad now I can go there for lunch during my school lunch break on tuesdays too!... The lunch specials are a great deal and food is awesome.

Dined here, the food is really good. Good food for great Value! The seafood soup was absolutely good with real crabmeat and shrimps. The pakaros are so good! Overall, the food is delicious and good.

Halal - What Halal, they don't serve Halal Foods. They do not have 'Halal Certificate on Display'. They are also very rude when you inquire about it!

We go to Golden China often nor matter good or bad comments people gave. When coming to customer service you don't expect 100% in North America. Probably home cooking will be best to satisfy your stomach and expectancy.
We would rate this restaurant excellent food.

We go to many Hakka and Chinese places, as this is our preferred cuisine and of all of them Golden China is our favourite. I find no fault with the service, but as with many busy restaurants of this size and type it is the food and not the service that keeps you coming back (i.e. Lin Gardens). The food keeps us coming back here again and again and although we still visit many of the other restaurants I would give Golden China the highest rating.

The food is tast as it is full of MSG, be ready for quick washroom visits and upset stomachs. Not a place to go!

Looking for halal foods, not this place to go, they are not halal at all!

Golden China by far has the best Chili Chicken that I have had anywhere, and I've eaten at all the well knowns (Lin Garden, Federicks, SinoPino, Imperial Garden etc.). Try it on the fried rice with extra chili, you won't be disappointed!

After seeing all the reviews recently, I'm not going anymore!

Too much MSG - more the reason for upset stomach. Upon enquiry, they get very upset and their customer service is real bad!

We bought manchurian chicken, hakka noodle and soup - the quality was bad and had upset stomach for 2 days!

We personally went to Golden China, asked them to produce receipt for their claim that they serve Halal Foods, they didn't had one handy! Makes you wonder why?

I'm totally disappointed by their claim that they server Halal Food - when asked to produce the receipt, they were unable to! Halal Food consumers are advised not to go to any Hakka Chinese restaurant as a good majority (90%) of them claims, but in reality they don't, while charging the premium price - enjoying the double dip, while they could!

We are not going there at all - obvious reason! Halal food is on display only, they are not buying halal meat at all!

I think the Islamic Society is looking into the claims by the owner that it's Halal, infact they DON'T server halal at all just the display on the Windows only. They mentioned that they buy from Sargent Farms and upon enquiring, it was revealed that they never bought from them.

This restaurant doesn't serve Halal at all and it's time for them to remove the display!

The quality of the food has gone down in the recent past, as well as the customer service!

Something has gone wrong with their menu, it doesn't taste good anymore and you can see the frustration on the owners face - annoyance!

Very bad customer service

Enjoyed the food there... pakoras are just sooo good....

Their Crispy Beef is very very good!...

Their soup is good as well ... try thier Speacial soup... is full of seafood ... REAL CRABMEAT AND SHRIMPS... IT'S REALLY GOOD...
Try their stir fried green beans, it's absolutely great... crunchy and spicy.

Their service is average. OK! compared to others... so no complaints.

Recently I had a big catering done from Golden China and I must say their food

tasted the best so far, very satisfied and appreciated their cordial

hospitality.

Golden china has the best crab corn soup (made with fake crab) and chicken pakoras. That's all I order when I go because they make it so well.

I've had several of their meat dishes as well and they're also very good.
Tangerine has better chili chicken though.

I don't understand the complaints about the people.
They're very nice people (unlike tangerine), although the service lacks because of the lack of staff.

We recently had dinner at this restaurant and were very disappointed. The soup didn't tase anything like soup. This is nothing compared to Lin Garden or Federicks. I will avoid it.

The Best Pakoras... Cripsy beef and Hakka chow mein... in Town!..

Beware!! Picked up take-out today they packed it so badly and blamed it on me!I parked my car lifted the plastic bag while all the gravy starting spilling out the bottom in my car!! Called them and they said there is nothing they can do about it. They placed a heavy item on something full of gravy it all leaked out!! They hung up on me when I called to complain. Horrible customer service!!!

I am from the same place as these owners are from, Calcutta and I have to admit that in the 5 years I have lived here, there is no Indian Hakka restaurant that even comes close to this restaurants authenticity of Indian Hakka cuisine. These guys are basically imports from India. There are many restaurants that try to conjure up this cuisine, but dont too close to the real deal. Over the few visits I have had shrimp fried rice, seafood soup, chicken pakora, sweet corn soup, chicken chow mein, hot garlic shrimp, chilli chicken, shrimp with mixed vegetables, chicken with vegetables. All were unbelievably perfect. Honestly, as I was jotting down those dishes, I could hear my stomach murmur!!

The service was not too pleasant. The food came before the plates and bowls! It seems like they are always short on staff. I dont think they even have waiters. They get their kitchen people to do the front end work too. I think if they hire even one waiter, the service could improve trifold.

The service lacks, I can sympathize that cuz this is just a hole in the restaurant hakka joint which serves the best Indian hakka food in North America. You dont come here to be pampered with maitre-d's and waiters, you come here to revisit your favorite Hakka Chinese restaurant in Tangra.

Today tried their BOMBAY CHICKEN!... it's terrific...good blend of chinese and indian flavor!... it' was just sooooo delicious a MUST TRY!...noooobody makes it like them... highly recommended!

Today,I had their Lunch special...it's very very good!..for the price $ 5.99+tax..you get a main course along with a free pop and soup...very affordable. I could go there for lunch more often.

I agree that the service is bad. For example, I shouldn't have to ask 3 times to get a glass a water, especially when there are only two parties in the restaurant.

Visited golden china restaurant first time with friends and family of 16. Must say the selection of food was good and the quality was immense. Service was also attentive as the servers spoke excellent english and hindi with good sense of humour.Definitely will visit again and we were glad we found a good place to go when craving for real hakka food. Prices are decent and you get great value.
Some dishes I must mention were awesome chicken pakora, special fried shrimps,crispy ginger beef,manchurian veg pakora, chilli chicken dry,and spicy chow mein, cantonese chow mein

My experience with This restaurant's service, ambiance, and especially the food is just awesome. I would go there again and again...I wouldn't let the chilli sauce tray incedent...stop me! by the way, all hakka restaurant service is bad...so why complain...just eat the delicious food and be happy. And it's very neat and CLEAN!
